NCLEX Quick Results explained

How Quick Results work, when they're available, what the $7.95 actually buys, and which states allow them.

Quick Results is NCSBN's unofficial result delivery service. Available in most US states, costs $7.95, and posts about 48 hours after your exam.

What Quick Results tells you

Pass or Fail. Nothing more. Not your score (there isn't one) and not your subject breakdown.

When it posts

Typically 48 hours after your exam, available 24/7 once posted. Refresh the NCSBN login portal, no email notification.

States that don't allow it

A small number of state BONs don't permit Quick Results. Check the NCSBN site for the current list. Most major states allow it.

Quick Results vs official

Quick Results is unofficial and not legally licensure. The BON posts the official result to its license verification site 2-6 weeks later, and that's when you can begin working as an RN.

Frequently asked

Is Quick Results 100% accurate?

Effectively yes. NCSBN's quick result reflects the same scoring as the official. Discrepancies are extremely rare.

Can I start work after Quick Results?

No. You need an active license, which requires the BON to process the official result and issue your license number.
